This online training is designed for those who want to practice Hormone Yoga independently at home and for Yoga Teachers who would like to teach Hormone Yoga in group classes or wish to support individual clients in their overall hormonal health.
Ancient Yogic Systems were always designed to balance the human physiology through directed flow of vital energy or prana. In modern science we know about the intricate communication of the main inner regulatory systems, the endocrine systen, the immune system and the nervous system and new branches of research are formed like Immuno-Neuro-Endocrinology. The ancient yogis already knew about these fine tuned connections and designed practices to promote health, a state of inner balance and to unfold the human potential.
As a Biologist and Human Physiologist I was always captured by the inherent wisdom of Yogic practices. I studied and certified in various forms of Hatha Yoga in different schools and with different teachers in India, Germany and the USA – as well as Yoga Therapy, Ayurveda and Yoga Nidra. I practiced intense Pranayama in the Himalayas, went on Silent Retreats and dived into Neuroscience, Mindfulness and Meditation, was invited to teach Yoga Teacher Trainings the first time in 2001 and was fortunate enough to learn from my hundreds of teacher trainees since then.
When my hyper-functioning Thyroid was reduced by half in surgery in 1999 and then grew back to normal function after 6 months of homoeopathy and regular Yoga practice with more chanting and meditation, I already became fascinated on how Yoga influences the Hormone System. In 2008 with so many women coming to my classes and trainings, I started to research into the topic more and found answers in Yoga Therapy, Ayurveda and did my first training called “Hormone Yoga” by Amba Poppiel. In 2011 my path crossed with Dinah Rodrigues, who was then in her Mid Eighties and researched in Hormone Yoga Therapy in Brazil, who inspired me further with her dynamic series of yoga exercises with special breathing and visualization techniques which she derived from different classical systems and her initial research on how they effect the female hormone system, especially the symptoms of menopause such as hot flushes, restlessness, migraine, insomnia, mood swings, hair loss, loss of libido etc.. As you study the material in this course, you will find, that it’s benefits reach far beyond the challenges during menopause and that Hormone Yoga is a beneficial tool in many stages of life for men and women likewise.
In this online training I share the knowledge gathered during my past 20 years about Yoga for hormonal balance. In the practice videos the individual techniques and exercises are explained and shown in detail. In addition, indications and contraindications for the individual exercises and alternative variations for indivdual limitations for the exercise are shown. The practice videos build up to a complete hormone yoga class and possible variations and additions.
